Thanks for this, Mark. I’ve written various academic things about Auster. He really did occupy a space in my intellectual musings for a while (and I am a diehard Mets fan because of him). I wonder if anyone has written on baseball in Auster’s writing? That might be the next project!
His books influenced me so much, especially the New York Trilogy which I read when I was new to the city. May his work flourish. Thanks for writing this Mark.
